Kukee.co.uk review...

July 28, 2012

So recently I have become just a little bit obsessed with an online jewellery site called Kukee. I heard about it through watching a video on YouTube of Becca from Voussontbeauetbelle, and have been drooling over the Jewellery ever since. Finally I made a purchase and this morning I recieved my items in the post. They were beautifully wrapped and looked like a lot of care had been taken in the packaging up of the items. The delivery was super speedy and cost £2.20 which is really not that bad.

I love the wrapping paper and the cute little stripy bag. It really reminds me of the bags you get when you visit a traditional sweetshop, it's so retro and adorable!
I then opened the bag to find my beauties wrapped in individual packets.
I ordered some really lovely cross earrings and I have been after a pair like this for a while. They are not too big that they look ridiculous, and they are not too small that you can't even see them. Also, they were only £2.50. (I know can you believe it?!)
Next I got a gorgeous bird ear cuff. I have wanted an ear cuff for AGES so it is great to finally have one. This was a bargain at only £1.50!

Next I ordered an amazing necklace that was so cheap and is so beautiful. It originally came with a shorter silver chain, but for the look I was going for I wanted a longer chain so changed it. It has a marbled green arrow head which I LOVE! It was only £2.50!

Then I got a plain silver above knuckle ring. This is my first above knuckle ring, and I have to say really like it. It is quite small though and I can only wear it on my little finger but I still love it! It was only £1.50!

So that was all of my purchases from Kukee, but I REALLY would love to buy some more! I really recommend visiting their website http://www.kukee.co.uk/ or follow them on twitter @ilovekukee.

My current skincare routine...

July 25, 2012

Skincare is one of those things that comes with wearing make-up on a daily basis. Many people make sure they take all of their make-up off before they go to bed and leave your skin beautifully moisturised. It is also great even if you don't wear make-up. It can revitalise your skin and make your face feel more vibrant. After years of watching my mum use Clinique products, I have followed in her footsteps and used Clinique myself. I remember always feeling so grown-up at the age of about nine, when she would let me have a moisturiser or a free sample. I follow the Clinique 3-step skin care routine, along with some other products which I have found along my travels.

Step 1- Cleanse.
I like to use face wipes as they are just so easy and remove your eye and face make-up in one. I have tried many such as Simple and Nivea, but strangey I really like the ASDA Skin Systm Cleansing Facial Wipes. They smell lovely and remove my make-up well. They are really well priced and only cost about a pound.

Step 2 is Step 1 of the Clinique 3-step Skin Care routine.
I use Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in mild. This stuff is AMAZING! It leaves your skin felling clean and refreshed. For a 200ml bottle it is £15 and you can buy it from places such as John Lewis. I tend to use the up the free samples from the Bonus Packs as they are really handy for travelling.

Step 3 is Step 2 of the Clinique 3-step skin routine.
I use Clinique clarifying lotion 2. It is £16 for a 200ml bottle, again from John Lewis.

Step 4 is Step 3 of the Clinique 3-step skin routine.

I use the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion. It is so light and sinks into the skin beautifully. It is £17 for 50ml. If my skin feels extra dry, I like to use Clinique Moisture Surge as it really keeps my skin feeling hydrated. It is £32 for 50ml.

Step 5- Eye Cream.
I use the balance Me extra care wonder eye cream. This stuff is my latest discovery and I have to say it is THE BEST EYE CREAM I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS! With it's 99% natural ingrediants it reduces dark circles like a dream. I got a 7ml tube in Glamour magazine and went back for another one as it is normally £20 for a 15ml bottle. I love this and am so happy I have found it. I feel I don't need to wear concelaler that much under my eyes now.

Others-
If I am having a day where my skin is breaking out I will use a cream or exfoliator designed to fight spots, such as the Clearasil Ultra All in 1 Wash and Mask. Also I use Clinque 7 day scrub cream as a gentle exfoliator for my skin. It is £17.50 for a 100ml tube.

OOTD: Summer Time...

July 25, 2012

This is my first ever Outfit Of The Day so I hope it is up to standard! It is BOILING here in the UK, ( I know, it's hard to believe!) so I am trying to wear as little as possible but still keeping my dignity intact. My top was £8 from Primark about a year ago. My shorts are from Topshop (last year aswell, sorry!) and they were £10 in the sale! My bracelets are a collection of random ones that I have picked up. My two favourites are the beaded Aztec print one and the American flag band. My lovely brother kindly bought them back from America for me after his galavant around the west coast, so I have no clue how much they were! My nails are Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in Lilac Charm.

I apologize for the rubbish camera quality- using a webcam was the only way I could take pictures like this by myself!

Beauty Haul...

July 16, 2012

So recently I have picked up some beauty bits and pieces that I thought I would review and show you. This is a collective beauty haul and I have not bought it all in one go. You might also notice that some of these things featured in my June Favourites!

1- Superdrug Dry Shampoo.
This stuff smells amazing but I don't think it is as good as Batiste as it doesn't seem to have the same grease banishing, hair refreshing effect. I bought them on an amazing offer of 3 for £1.99 so for the price they are really quite good!

2- Clinique blended face powder in 20 invisible blend.
I really like this powder as it is almost invisible when applied and leaves your face shine free! I don't particularly like loose powders that much as I find them a bit of a faf but this one is really good and I totally recommend it! I got mine in a smaller version from a Clinique Bonus Time pack but you can buy full size versions for around £20 in boots.

3- Hollister Crystal Cove Body Mist.
You can read my review in my June Favourite here.

4- Sanex dermo invisible 24h anti-perspirant deodorant.
Okay, so this is slightly random as it is a deodorant but it is a very good one and I thought I would just share it with you. It only cost me £1 from savers.

5- St Tropez Everyday Body Moisturiser Gradual Tan in Medium to Dark
You can read my review on this product in my June Favourites here.

6- Collection 2000 Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner
I really haven't enjoyed using this product at all. First of all the smell is rather pungent and not very pleasant. The tip if the liner is rather good but the actual liquid leaves a lot to be desired. I would say that it doesn't last 24 hours as it starts to fade in the most annoying places. Also, I have been left with black marks on the top of my eyelids after use. I wouldn't recommend this product. It was £2.99 from Boots.

7- Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation
You can read my review of this product in my June Favourites here.

8- Nail Polish
I have really enjoyed using these nail polishes as they are all really good and I totally recommend them!

My favourites are Maybelline New York Forever Strong Pro in 240 Lilac Charm  (bought on offer for £3 in ASDA) and MUA Nail Varnish in shade 5 (£1 Superdrug).  They are both beautiful colours that are perfect for spring/summer.

Ways to wear a plain shirt...

July 16, 2012

So many of us will probably have a plain shirt of some sort tucked away in our wardrobes which we don't wear too often but would like to, so I thought I would do this post and show a 'night and day' look using a plain pink shirt. Mine is from Primark and only cost me £3 in the sale! I am thinking about studding the collar so if I do I will be sure to do a post on how I did it!
 Day-

Night-

Adding simple denim shorts and tights during the day and a 50's style skirt that compliments the colour of the shirt for night works really well! Adding tights and heels (or boots!) would work really well especially as the British weather is pretty rubbish!
Shorts £28 Topshop, Skirt around £28 Boden and Shoes £7 TKmaxx.

Beyond Retro

Beyond Retro...

July 12, 2012

It seems like I haven't done an outfit post in ages! (probably because I haven't...!) I wanted to share with you my amazing new find which is this amazing retro denim shirt. I bought it from a shop called Beyond Retro which are in Brighton, London and Sweden. They sell retro items that are just fabulous and quite reasonably  priced.  I think it's a mans shirt but as it has no label so I'm not sure even who it's by. It cost me £18 and goes perfectly with so many things. Wear open over a dress for a festival look or wear buttoned up on top of patterned leggings. Add creepers or vans for a casual but cool effect.

Shirt £18 Beyond Retro, Leggings £10 (in the sale) Urban Outfitters and Vans around £45 Office.

Clinique

6 beautiful Lipsticks...

July 12, 2012

So as the weather is pretty grim at the moment I thought I would do a post on 6 beautiful lipsticks that will add a pop of colour to these grey days! Only in the last 6 months or so have I started wearing lipstick as an everyday thing. I never used to see the point but one day I thought I would give it a whirl, and I have never looked back scince. I tend to buy the cheaper lipsticks as I think they are a good way of experimenting with what colour suits you best, before you pay for really expensive ones. Frankley though,. I think £13 for a lipstick *cough* MAC *cough* is just ridiculous when you can buy perfectley could ones for around £5.

1. MUA Lipstick in Shade 16 Nectar.

1.Swatch

2.Kate Moss Lipstick for Rimmel London in Shade 20.
2. Swatch

3. MUA Lipstick in Shade 13.

3.Swatch

4. Kate Moss Lipstick for Rimmel London in Shade 03.

4. Swatch

5. MUA Lipstick in Shade 8.

5. Swatch
6. Clinique Lipstick in Extreme Pink

6. Swatch
1. I love the colour of this lipstick. It is a beautiful coral colour and I only paid £1 for it! I bought this one as I wasn't sure whether coral suited me so I thought I would get a cheaper one first. It is a new addition to MUA's lipstick collection. I would say the consistancy is one more of a balm than a lipstick as it is quite slidy and not so creamy (I hope you get what I mean!) but for a £1 it is a bargain! I bought it from Superdrug.

2. This has got to be one of my favourite lipsticks! It is so creamy and smells AMAZING! Honestly, I could eat it. (that would be a bit weird though!) It is a very (and I mean very!) bright pink. Overall it is just fabulous and lasts well. I bought it on an offer for £3.99 in Boots but now it has gone back to it's normal price of £5.49 in Boots and Superdrug.

3. I bought this lipstick to see if red would suit me and I have to say I love it. I have the dark red MUA lipstick but to get then bright red one is great. It's just a classic colour that I think most people have and it really adds a splash of colour to outfits. £1 Superdrug.

4. This is my everyday nude lipstick. Again, it is so creamy and lasts well. The colour is beautiful and looks effortlessly gorgeous! £5.49 Boots and Superdrug.

5. This is the dark more pigmented version of the bright red MUA lipstick and I have to say it isn't my favourite. It doesn't last too long and is almost too pigmented. Overall it is still a good lipstick for the price though. £1 Superdrug.

6. This is my only Clinique lipstick and I would say it is really quite good. It's nice and creamy and rather pigmented. I don't agree with the name 'extreme pink' though as it's not as bright as I would like. It is a very good lipstick though. I got mine in a Bonus time pack but you can buy them for around £16.50 which I think is really expensive! If you want one try John Lewis or Clinique online.

June Favourites...

July 01, 2012

So this is the first time I have done a favourites post and I have to say I had a great time preparing it! Usually I find that I don't really have many 'favourites' of the month as a lot of my beauty products stay the same, but this month I have found lots of new things that have exited me!

1- Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
I love this foundation, it is quite honestly the best I've ever used! It smells amazing; blends easily; is really moisturising and gives an amazing coverage! I bought it on offer for £6.99 but it is usually £8.99 from Boots.

2- E'spa Blended Aromatherapy Body Oil Collection
I have had these little babies for a while now but only recently used them again this month. They are brilliant for massages and baths and leave your skin feeling SUPER soft! Each bottle has a different property and they range from things such as Fitness Body Oil to Detoxifying Body Oil. They are quite an indulgence though as last time I checked similar ones were around £27!

3- St Tropez Everyday Body Moisturiser Gradual Tan in Medium to Dark
I love this product! I have never tried St Tropez before as they are quite an expensive brand, but since I was sent this free with ELLE magazine this month, I thought I would give it a go! It applies well, is quite moisturising and doesn't smell like fake tan. I'd say the smell was more like those fragrance stick you get, which can be a little overpowering at first! Overall though I would say this product is brilliant as I was really happy with the colour afterwards! I have fair skin and medium to dark does me brilliantly.

4- MUA Blusher in Shade 1
I love this blusher. It is a really pretty bright pink that is perfect for spring/summer. It lasts well and is a bargain at £1 from Superdrug.

5- Hollister Crystal Cove Body Mist
I love this fragrance. I never usually shop in Hollister, but have always liked their scents. When I was given this as a gift I was overjoyed at the fact it is one of the nicest smelling things I think I have ever sprayed on myself! I am using it instead of perfume at the moment. £12 Hollister.

6- Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
This intense moisturiser is fantastic. It really 'does what is says on the tin'. Leaves my skin lovely and soft and has a gentle cooling affect when applied.

7- IKEA candles
Okay, so candles might seem like a bit of a weird thing to put in a favourites post but I just had to include these. At 95p they are an absolute bargain and smell terrific. Highly Reccomended!

8- Original Source Chocolate and Mint Shower Gel
Judging by the emptiness of this bottle you can see how much I have loved this. I was slightly sceptical at first, chocolate and mint, is that a bit wired? But I assure you, this has got to be the one of nicest smelling shower gels ever! I love it to pieces and definitely want to re-purchase this!

9-Others
Kate Moss lipstick in 20- I love this, the colour is an amazing bright pink and it smells amazing.
Nails Inc. London Nail Polish in Ebury Bridge- I love this beautiful nail polish, it has been my favourite this month. A gorgeous lavender/move colour, that looks effortlessly fantastic!
