July Favourites...

Favourites time again...

I cant believe how quickly this year has flown by...(stereotypical blogger talk I know)! It feels like just a few weeks ago I was getting excited for Christmas and now we're in the middle of summer!

Any hoo- I have quite a few favourites this month and I know these posts can be quite long winded to read so I'll try and keep it short and sweet!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush & Topshop Cream Blush in 'Head Over Heels'
I really like using this brush for cream blusher as I just love the way it applies it. I find cream blusher such a faf and this just makes it really easy. This blush is not the longest lasting in the world but the colour is sooo pretty!

St Moriz Dark Tanning Mousse
I've talked about this brand before and how I love this product but this is basically just the dark version. I love the colour and it is really easy to apply and so affordable!

Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant
I know...a deodorant in a favourites? But this is really good. It is quite expensive for a deodorant but it does keep you dry throughout the summer months!

MAC 'Creme Cup' Lipstick
I've written a review on this lipstick which you can read here.

MAC ProLongwear Concealer
I adore the coverage, colour and texture of this concealer. It brightens and conceals (if you get a shade slightly lighter than your skin tone) but the only thing it does do that annoys me is go slightly powdery under my eyes after a while. I think this is because it is the oiliest part of my face, but I love it nonetheless.

Barry M 'Peach Melba' Nail Paint
The colour of this nail polish is GORGEOUS! It looks so good with a tan and just makes me feel really summery!

MUA 'Lolly' Blusher
I adore the colour of this blusher. It looks so summery and lovely and the best thing is this blush only cost £1!

 Music Favourites
Papaoutai- Stromae
Best Song Ever- One Direction
Slim Shady- Eminem
Pump It- Black Eyed Peas
Summertime Sadness- Lana Del Ray
Gabrielle Aplin's Album 'English Rain'

Hope you enjoyed that- let me know what your favourites are this month!

MAC Creme Cup Lipstick...

July 24, 2013

If you saw my MAC haul you would have seen that I purchased Creme Cup lipstick. I thought seeing as I have used it for a few weeks I would do a little review on it.

I was after the perfect nude that would suit my fair skin tone and I really think I've found it in Creme Cup. It is a beautiful nude pink with bluey/purpely undertones. It is a creamsheen formula so is quite glossy and moisturising. It lasts well like most MAC lipsticks but I do find that I get a lipstick line gathering on the inside off lips but I do with most lipsticks. The colour isn't opaque so you can build up the colour to your desire. It is the perfect mink pink colour. If you have dry lips or lip lines it will emphasise them slightly so just make sure your lips are exfoliated before you use it.

(I'm sorry about the lack of swatch images- I did take one but it obviously didn't upload, sorry!)

I think this lipstick would suit paler skin tones as it could wash out more tanned skin tones. It really awakens the face and makes it look pretty and pink. I can tell that this is my new favourite nude!

The Beauty Obsessives Holiday Saviour...

July 23, 2013

If like me you are freakishly obsessed with all things beauty then you probably know the feeling of packing to go away and finidng that you can't actually close your makeup bag ( or suitcase for that matter!).

I was walking around the beach section of Primark the other day and came across this cute little hanging beauty bag. I had seen VDM use one in her holiday packing guides that was from Cath Kidston but I thought I would be able to find one cheaper in Primark. They are such a clever idea and allow you see what you actually have instead of packing one and only using a quarter of it! Also they really save on space as you can hang everything on the back of a door rather than have it spread out across draws and a dressing table etc.

Obviously large bottle of fake tan, hairspray etc. wouldn't fit in, but if you are going away for the weekend or maybe for a week away I think this is such a practical idea. In a couple of weeks time I will be going on holiday for two weeks- lets see how much I end up taking!

What's On My Face #1...

July 21, 2013

I have been inspired by Lily Pebbles blog 'What I Heart Today' to do my own version of her 'What's On My Face' posts. I think they are really interesting as the show the different makeup used by people each day. So here goes...

After cleanse, tone and moisturising my face I applied my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in the colour 120 Vanilla and buffed it in using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I then pumped out a bit of MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and applied it under my eyes and on any blemishes I had. I then blended it in using the Real Techniques Contour Brush and my fingers. I then all, used a tiny bit of Collection Powder to my t-zone etc. before moving onto contour. Using my Real Techniques Contour Brush and my Sleek Contour Kit in 'light', I out the contour powder in the hollows of my cheeks followed by the highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones, along the bridge of my nose, my Cupid's bow and my chin. I then applied my MUA 'Lolly' blusher to the apples of my cheeks. After that I took my MUA Matt eyeshadow in the shade '18' and using an angled brush applied it to brows filling in And defining any sparse areas. I then primed my eyes using MUA professional eye primer, and then took Shade 2 from the MUA Undresses Pallete and swept it across my whole eyelid. I then took shade 3 and defined the cease slightly. I then took  my Benefit Smokin' Eyes Kit and took the Charcoal Eyeshadow and defined my crease even further, blending out with a fluffy brush. To finish the yes I applied some of the Maybelline The Rocket Mascara to make my eyes look more open and my eyelashes look longer. To finish the whole look I took my MAC 'Creme Cup' lipstick and applied it to my lips straight from the bullet.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it's given you some inspiration!

Summer...

July 15, 2013

In Britain we don't get much practise when it comes to hot weather. This means that I often find myself struggling to find something to wear when the weather gets really hot. I think it's about finding really nice pieces that you feel comfortable in as layering just isn't really an option when it's hot. I picked up this top in the New Look sale for £6 the other day which I think is an absolute bargain as it is such a detailed top. I also like to wear flowy skirts as they keep you cool and you don't always have to get your legs out! Hope this gives you all some inspiration!

MAC HAUL...

July 07, 2013

The other day Me and my bank balance decided to part at the MAC counter in many local department store. I had been eyeing up a lipstick for a long time so thought I might aswell bight the bullet and buy it. However whilst there I managed to buy more than what I went in for.....how did that happen eh?! So I thought I would show you what I got!

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in 'Creme Cup'
I had been on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick and creme cup really stood out for me. It is like the perfect pinky, creamy lipstick that can easily been worn everyday. Once I have used it more I will make sure to post a full review on it!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in 'NC15'
I didn't really need a new concealer but I had heard a few people talk about Pro Longwear so thought I would try it. The colour is great because it is slightly lighter than my skin-tone so it adds a really nice highlighting effect. Again, I will post a full review when I have used it more!

MAC Brush Cleanser
I often find the task of deep cleaning my brushes quite mundane so thought I would pick this up as it means you can easily spot clean your brushes without damaging them. I have also heard you can use it to deep cleanse them aswell so I shall be trying that one out!

My excuse for buying all this was that the department store I went to had 10% off!

What's been catching your eye in MAC recently?

If I'd Gone to Glastonbury...

July 05, 2013

If you live in the UK right now you'll probably know that one of the biggest festivals around happened last weekend- Glastonbury. I wanted to be there so badly, but seeing as I wasn't I thought I would show you a few of the outfits that I would have worn to this legendary festival. Also there are many more festivals coming up this summer so I hope this gives a bit of inspiration as to what you could wear!

Outfit 1
I love the relaxed bohemian feel to this dress. It is so simple yet so flattering. Really simply paired with a leather jacket and wellies, it is the perfect festival look. The only thing you wouldn't want to do is get it muddy! I got this is the H&M sale for £10, although online it is advertised as £17?! The lipstick I would wear with this look would be MAC 'Creme Cup' as I think the look requires a subtle pinky lip to compliment the dress well.

Dress- H&M, Jacket- New Look, Knee High Socks- Jack Wills, Wellies- Blacks and Hat- Primark.

Outfit 2
This outfit is a little bit more casual as I have paired a really simple cream cami with some denim shorts. Adding a khaki jacket gives it that relaxed feel and again pairing it with wellies and knee highs is a good idea because festivals and mud are best friends! To add a little bit of colour I put on a floral headband to give a truly festival feel to the outfit. The Lipstick I would wear would be MAC 'Lady Danger' as Inthink it would add a pop of colour to a rather simple outfit.

Jacket- Primark, Cami, Shorts- Topshop, Knee High Socks- Jack Wills, Wellies- Blacks,Floral headband-Primark and sunnies-urban outfitters.

Outfit 3
This outfit plays on the midi skirt theme that you often see in the summer. Midi skirts are perfect if you don't really want to get much of your legs out, or if you've had a bit of a fake tan disaster...(patchy knees anyone...). I love the colour and vibrancy of this blouse and I really think it contrasts well with the pastel pink skirt. I think wellies would look a bit heavy with this look so I've opted for some brogue style boots as I think they look a bit more delicate on the end. I don't think I would wear a lipstick with this outfit as there is a lot of colour going on it it, so I would just wear a lip balm like Nivea Essential Moisture to soften my lips and keep them hydrated.

hope you enjoyed this little lookbook and I would live to know what festivals you're planning on going to this summer, and what you are thinking of wearing!
