Preppy Casual.

January 29, 2012

This outfit is really casual. It is really good for weekends and laid back days. Preppy but pretty, the stripes of the shirt really compliment the sheer plain top. Boots make this look quite wintery, but to change it for the seasons add, ballet pumps in the spring and gladiators in the summer.

Shirt around £28 Boden, Top around £8 Primark, Leggings around £15 Topshop, Socks £1 (in the sale) Topshop, Boots £15 In the sale from £80) Office and Necklace handmade.

How life inspires.......part 2

Quirky mode of transport in China. Beijing.

Pancakes for the perfect breakfast.

Buckingham Palace cafe. London.

A traditional tea pot at Charleston House, Sussex.

Log wall at the Pig Hotel, New Forest.

Amazing tiles at the Pig Hotel, New Forest.

60's glasses.

January 29, 2012

I love these 60's style glasses. They make any outfit have an extra bit of quirky-ness to it. These are just plastic frames so even if you don't need glasses you can still wear them. The bold black frames can be hard to wear, so if you are a bit tentative of  being so bold , keep your make-up toned down and wear simple colours that contrast with the glasses, or maybe wear a brown or tortoise shell style pair of glasses. You can buy similar here.

Glasses £1 Primark.

How life inspires.....

January 29, 2012

I believe that inspiration for fashion can be found anywhere and everywhere. Taking photos of things you have seen and love can be a good way to 'scrapbook' ideas. These are some of the things I have seen and loved.

Shorts and Tights.

January 28, 2012

This was today's outfit. Shorts and tights combo with a fitted blazer. I wore a striped shirt with the top button done up. I find doing the top button up adds a bit of glam. A knitted jumper underneath the blazer also adds another texture to the outfit.
Shorts around £15 Zara, Jumper around £9.99 H&M, Shirt around £28 Boden, Blazer £25.95 (in the sale from £49.95) Zara, Tights £4 Primark and Boots around £30 (in the sale from £100) Kurt Geiger.

Elegant Maxi.

January 28, 2012

This outfit is SO elegant! The floatyness and colour make it look so good. The geometrical stripes add a bit of intrest and the sheer top makes it so simple. The maxi skirt was originally a dress but I think it looks so much better as a skirt. Maxis are really good for a floaty look but if you are quite short they can sometimes swamp you, so make sure you don't go for one with too big of a pattern. Rock the look with chunky heels to add an extra bit of texture!
Top around £8 Primark, Skirt (originally a dress) £5.99 H&M and Heels £7 (originally £50) TKmaxx.

My little beauties.

January 28, 2012

These boots are absolutely GORGEOUS! I bought them today in Office and wore them all the way home, only taking them off to take more pictures for the blog! Originally £80 I bagged these beauties for an amazing £15 in the sale. The heel adds a bit of height and the brogue design looks really pretty. Bold but girly, these boots are an absolute winner and will go well with so many outfits!
Boots £15 (in the sale, originally £80) Office.

Floaty Flower Shorts.

January 25, 2012

I love this outfit! The floaty shorts and vintage floral print really make it summery and pretty. The peter pan collar makes it really 60's and the flower print shoes clash brilliantly! Be brave with clashing, but make sure you only clash one or two things, as if too many are clashed it could look less stylish, more pattern disaster!

Top around £16 New Look, Shorts £6 Primark, Tights £4 Primark and Shoes £3 (in the sale from £18) Primark.

Vintage Floral Skirt.

January 24, 2012

I love this outfit! It consits of a beautiful peter pan collar top and a skirt that was originally a dress! The georgous floral print pattern on the skirt look amazing with its red, gold and blue colours. Mixed with the monochrome 60's style top, this outfit looks amazing!
Top around £16 New Look, Skirt (originally a dress) £5 primark, Tights £4 primark and Shoes £7 Tkmaxx.

Wonderful Waistcoat.

January 24, 2012

Here I have a really intresting and vintage style waistcoat. It is a really soft cotton-y waistcoat and a beautiful cream colour. I made it from an old nigh gown with a bit of help from an amazing seamstress! I love the beautiful lace pattern, which I have to admit I did not make! It is really good for layering and goes really well with pearls, and light floaty colours and materials! It is a wardrobe must have!

(I have to admit it does not look its best from the front on the mannequin!)

Lydia in Vintage.

January 23, 2012

I just wanted to show you all a picture of Lydia Bright from TOWIE in this amazing, vintage style dress. The small details on this dress are what make it amazing! Nice call Lydia!

Floaty Dress.

January 22, 2012

I love this blue floaty dress, it really reminds me of summer. Unfortunately, summer is just a dream at this moment in time and cold winds and rain seem to be a reality; so tights are a must- have with this dress in the late winter. Cable knit tights add an extra bit of pattern and intrest. Pair with a light cardigan and boots and your ready to go!
Dress around £25 Boden, Cardigan around £65 Karen Millen, Tights £4 Primark and Boots around £30 (in the sale) Kurt Geiger.

50's skirt.

January 18, 2012

I LOVE this 50's style skirt. It really reminds me off rock and roll style skirts. The colour clash is georgous, and the big wide stripes go really well with narrow stripes just like on the shirt. Adding a blazer makes it modern but vintage and wearing fairsile tights in the winter keeps you nice and cosy in the winter!
Skirt around £22 Johnnie B Shirt around £28 Johnnie B Blazer £29.95 (in the sale) Zara Tights £4 Primark and Pearl necklace £2 for pack of 2 Primark.

Beautiful Blazer.

January 11, 2012

This georgous blazer is an amazing sale find in Zara. It is slightly tailored, so creates an amazing body shape, almost Vivienne Westwood Style. It is a sort of grey colour with beautiful a purple lining that shows if you turn the cuffs up.
Blazer £29.95 from £49.95 Zara. Leggings £3 Primark. Top from H&M.

Bargain vintage with a modern twist.

January 02, 2012

I love this dress because of the floral print. It's summery but can also be worn with tights, a jumper or leggings in the winter. It has probably got to be one of my most amazing finds, as I think it was around £4 from £9 in, wait for it................ASDA. Remarkable! The shoes are from Topshop and are a sort of peachy suede. I love them! This outfit is what I'd call vintage with a modern twist.

Dress around £4 (in the sale) George at ASDA and Shoes £30 Topshop.

Pilatzo Pants.

January 01, 2012

I love the way the stripes and florals clash in this outfit. The Pilatzo pants really add a hint of vintage glam, and the shirt adds a touch of serious to it. The Pilatzo Pants believe it or not are from Primark! The shirt is from Johnnie B.

Shirt around £28 Johnnie B and Pilatzo Pants around £15 Primark.

My Best and Worst dressed celebs of 2011!

January 01, 2012

Whilst we are welcoming in the new year lets cast our minds back to the fashion year of 2011. It has been a corker of a year for Fashion. First we had Gaga's meat dress, then Cheryl's X Factor USA outfit which is what I would call...........colourful? Anyway, to sum it up here are my Best and Worst dress celebs of 2011!

BEST DRESSED

Olivia Palermo has to be one of my modern day fashion idols! She manages to look effortlessly amazing all the time. I love this outfit because of the clash between the bag and the dress, it really works! Also, the pattern on her dress is so understated, its brilliant!
Emma Watson looked stunning in the Rafael Lopez dress. Okay I admit this was taken in 2010 but I really wanted to include it! The lace makes it look very classy and the feathering adds a touch of red carpet glam.

Fearne Cotton looked amazing in this peter pan collard dress. The wavy blond locks and the orange shoes really comliment this dress. The multi-tonal colours really make this dress unique. I have found a similar dress from ASOS for only £22 in the sale! http://www.asos.com/
Similar to Fearnes!

WORST DRESSED

Brooke Vincent looked like a vision in neon at the British Soap Awards 2011! Brooke looked more like she was ready for a party in Ibiza than she did ready to go to an awards ceremony. Combined with the silver heels this outfit was a bit of a disaster..........er sorry Brooke.

Once again Lady Gaga showed us her love for unusual and sometimes controversial outfits (*cough* the meat dress *cough*)! But she didn't stop there. In her apparance of this years X Factor she wore a woman with a severed head! Obviously the woman wasn't real but it shows how 'unique' Gaga is with her look. What do you think?
Well I'm coming to the end of my Best and Worst dressed celebs of 2011, but I just thought I would show you my very wost dressed celeb of 2011. Katie Price taking what appears to be an over bright swimming costume/leotard to a magazine launch. I'm not going to say much on this apart from 6 little words. Oh Katie, what were you thinking?
