From the eyes to the brows.

February 29, 2012

Today's make-up review goes to Benefit smokin' eyes sexy eye & brow makeover kit. I LOVE this product. I use it everyday and it is so useful. I mostly use it for brows as it has a really good brow wax that is easy to apply and it comes with a hard angled brush. I think filling brows in is a great way to define brows and add structure to the face. Also in this set is a step by step guide to getting smokey eyes. It comes with 2 shadows, brow highlighter powder, brow wax, a khol pencil, a brush.......(yes I'm still going), eye bright wax AND mini tweezers. It is quite expensive but so worth it.

Parka.

February 25, 2012

I love this outfit because it is really stylish whilst keeping you warm. The chunky knit scarf and the dark green parka go really well with the skinny green jeans as it creates a nice silhouette. I think that creating the right silhouette is so important. I follow the rule of skinny on the bottom wide on the top or visa versa. The similar colour boots make the outfit look more outdoorsy.

Its all about the foundations.

February 25, 2012

Today's make-up review is of Rimmel London's Stay Matte Foundation. For me, foundation is a take it or leave it thing. Some days I think natural is best, other days I want every product I can to cover my face. This is a liquid foundation which I find less easy to apply than say a mousse. It offers good coverage and promises up to 12 hours of natural shine control. It is slightly orange but that just might be because of my pale skin tone! Overall it is a good foundation for everyday use. One thing I would suggest though, is making sure you use a powder afterwards as it can look a bit wet.

You couldn't make it up!

February 23, 2012

So I want to try this new thing. Everyday (if all goes to plan!) I will post a review of one piece of make-up that I really thinks help create the vintage vibe! Today is Benefit Magic Ink Jet-Black Liquid Eyeliner. I love liquid eyeliner as I think it is the best piece of make-up for creating vintage looks just like Audrey Hepburn or a modern day look like Jamela Jamal. It is a tad pricey but has a really good thin brush for controlled application. The only problem is it wears off a bit during the day!

I'm SO sorry for the lack of blogging recently, had no Wi-Fi for a while but can't wait to get back to it! Recently I bought this amazing 60's style coat. It was a bargain but looks expensive. It is a statement piece, so style with plain things such as leggings, plain white tops etc. The 60's look was really in last season but I think you can wear it anytime and look amazing. Complete the 60's look with retro glasses!

D&G on a budget.

February 03, 2012

I know I have have blogged this dress before, but recently I have seen dresses just like it in Elle, Grazia etc. The designer brand D&G are doing dresses with simmilar prints for their S/S 12 collection. This is my way of doing designer on a budget. In total this outfit probably cost around £17.

Vintage Cowgirl.

February 03, 2012

I love this outfit, it's really fun and quirky. Clashing the prints works really well as in this outfit it makes it look quite vintage cowgirl. Adding a glass brooch near the top button as an extra bit of glam and vintage style. Rock the looks with chunky black heels!
Shirt £10.90 (in the sale) Hollister, Shorts around £6 Primark and shoes £7 (in the sale from £50) TKmaxx.

Retro Chic.

February 02, 2012

This outfit is quite smart yet chic and casual. The top reminds me of the 60's and the chinos make it look smart and spring like. I've seen lots of pastel colours for S/S 12 in the magazines. Although these trousers were bought around last summer they work really well for this season.
Top around £12 New Look, Chinos £24.99 New Look, Heels £7 (in the sale from £50) TKmaxx.

February 01, 2012

Seeing as it is rather chilly around at the moment, I think this retro Topshop number would keep you nice and warm whilst looking fab! Wear with a chunky knit scarf, boots and tights!
