Empties #1...

September 24, 2012

So this is my first ever empties post and blimey does it take me a while to finish things. I just never seem to use up many products that quickly, and after attempting to do this post about a month ago but then losing the pictures and recyling the items, I am glad I have finally accumilated enough to show you. Now, if you have never seen an empties post before you might be wondering why I am showing you all of my empty bottles and products, but I think these types of post give you the best opinion about a product as the products have not just been swatched or looked at, they have been fully used.

Ella&Rose Shower Sweet Shower Patchouli & Vanilla Body Wash
I LOVE this shower gel. It smells beautifully fresh and clean and I just love the packaging, it's so retro and sweet. You used to be able to buy it in ASDA but I'm not sure if you can anymore, so if you know where you can buy it I'd love to know!
Bblonde Jerome Russell Hair Lightner for use on Medium to Dark Brown Hair
This is what I used to Ombre my hair and I have to say it is a really good product. It's easy to apply and didn't leave my hair feeling dry and horrid. It does smell a bit pungent though, but I think that is the case with most peroxide bleaches. £5.49 Boots or £4.99 Savers.

Philosophy Pure Grace Shower and Bath Cream
I've heard good things about Philosophy products but this was just average. It smells really nice and clean though.

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes and ASDA Skin System Cleansing Facial Wipes
I use face wipes everyday and have tried quite a few brands, but I have to say the Simple ones are the best. They just feel like they are doing good to my skin and I like the fact they don't have many harsh chemicals in them.

St. Tropez Everyday Body Moisturiser Gradual Tan in Medium to Dark
I have raved about this a lot before as I just really like it. It is quite a natural looking tan and it doesn't smell too bad. The only problem is it is soooooo expensive. A good alternative is the Garnier Summer Body as it is a lot cheaper!

Balance Me. Wonder eye cream
I have also raved about this product before and I still think it is great. It really makes your eyes feel refreshed, and I loved it so much that I got another so that I wouldn't  have to go without!

Soap&Glory Thick&Fast Mascara
This mascara is amazing. It has a super thick bristle brush and it really adds volume to your lashes. I think it is worth the £10 price tag as it is just so good.

Clinique blended face powder in 20 Invisible Blend
I used to loathe loose powder as I just found it a bit of a faf, but after using this I am converted. It is so easy to use and I love that this is more of a translucent powder and doesn't add an orangey tinge to your face. It's such a shame that it is so expensive though, so if anyone has a cheaper alternative then it would be great if you could let me know!

A/W Lookbook #1...

September 22, 2012

So I thought I would do the first part of my A/W Lookbook for you today as now the weather seems to be changing, and if you live in Britain you have probably been wearing a couple of extra layers over the past week or so! This is to give you a few ideas of how you can style up pieces you might already have in your wardrobe for this autumn!

LOOK 1- Leather and Leggings
So this look will keep you nice and warm as you can layer it up by wearing a top underneath your blouse and a cardi under the jacket. Adding a chunky necklace adds a bit of texture and extra detailing.
Peter Pan Collar Blouse 30p Garage Sale, Necklace £2 Scope (charity shop), Leather Jacket £40 New Look, Leggings £3 Primark, Shoes £7 TKMaxx. NAILS- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in 55 Cardinal £1 Poundland.

LOOK 2- Velvet Spring
So this look uses a skirt which I got in the spring time and a velvet blouse which I bought from a charity shop. This skirt can work well for A/W as well as spring by adding tights or thick socks. I absolutely LOVE this blouse. It is so on trend at the moment with the whole 'Soft Goth' look and it only cost me £1.99!
Blouse £1.99 Charity shopa nd Skirt £19.99 New Look.

Look 3- Polka-dot!
This look can be dressed up for an evening out by adding a skirt, tights and heels and or dressed down for everyday wear by wearing leggings and flats. I LOVE this blouse. I bought it from a charity shop and paid £1.99. It was originally from Primark so I think must have cost around £10-£12.
Blouse £1.99 Charity Shop, Belt Primark, Skirt £5 (Sale) H&M.

Look out for Part 2 lovelies....

Just a little note to say...

September 13, 2012

Aloha lovelies! I just wanted to share with you all this advert from Boots which I have watched repeated times, purely because I think it sums me up in a nutshell. You might think it is a bit strange and slightly shallow that I'm suggesting to you to watch an advert, but it just made me chuckle at how Boots have hit the nail on the head when it comes to a lot of women and A/W! Enjoy!

TREND: Soft Goth...

September 10, 2012

So this A/W we have seen many a good trend work it's way down the catwalk and I would love to bring you my take on all the trends via a 'Trend' post. Many of the things you see on the catwalk are not whta you'd call 'ready to wear' as you wouldn't see many people nipping out for a pint of milk in 8 inch stilletos and a cage dress, but the catwalks are full of inspirational ideas for everyday fashion. One trend in particular that I am loving this season is 'Soft Goth'. Now, I am not a goth or even someone who wears head to toe crosses and studs, I just like to dabble in it. Whether it be a piece of jewellery or a pair of shoes anyone can add a bit of goth to their outfit for the A/W season!

Summer beauty favourites 2012...

September 06, 2012

So unfortunatly, it appears that here in the UK summer is now over. In fact, it never really began. With day after day of dreary rain and grey clouds it's not really been much of scorcher. Since we are now moving into A/W I thought I would review some of my favourite summer products.

Here I have the products I have used for most of the summer and the ones that  have really stood to me as being really good. I've enjoyed using skincare items more than make-up as on the odd day that we got some sun, or I was on holiday, I found I really didn't bother with that much make-up but wanted my skin to look glowing and refreshed.

Bblonde hair lightner for use on Medium/Dark Brown hair
So this summer I dip-dyed/ombred my hair and I used this product to do so. I was expecting my hair to feel damaged because of the bleaching process but this just left it feeling the same as always and was really easy to use! £5.99 in Boots or £3.99 in Savers.

Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
These wipes are just a classic and I have loved the way they are super speedy and super refreshing!

St.Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Moisturiser in Medium Dark
I have raved about this product many times before. I just love it. Say no more.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Apple Blossom
I bought this product after hearing about it via Becca from Voussontbeauetbelle. It swatches a beautiful baby pink colour but when applied to the lips becomes something of a neutral base. Some people say it washes them out but I think it does so in a nice way. (if you get what I mean!) £1.99 Boots.

MUA blusher in Shade 1
I LOVE this blusher. It is a gorgeous bright pink colour that lasts all day and is perfect for summer. It is such a bargain at only £1!

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
This is the most cooling, refreshing moisturiser I have ever used. I am nearly out of it but as I love it so much I have another one waiting in my drawer!

Sleek Brow Kit in Light 817
This brow kit is exellent and I have used it so much since I got it. I would say it is a dupe for Benefit Browzings and at over half the price it is an excellent product! £8.50 Sleek.com.

Vo5 nourish me truly damaged hair shampoo
This is a new discovery of mine and it is absoloutly brilliant. It lathers well and really hydrates my hair, leaving it feeling soft and in good condition. The best thing about it is I got for only £1 in Poundland!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory
I have raved about this product so much that I don't need to say anything else other than FANTASTIC! There is an offer on at the moment to get it for £5.99 rather than £8.99 so hurry down to Superdrug to take advantage of the offer!

Montagne jeunesse Face Packs
I love these facepacks as they really do work and they leave your skin feeling wonderful.  A recommended buy!

Aloha YouTube...

September 03, 2012

So after wanting to start a channel of my own for a while now, today I finally took the plunge and uploaded my first video. As a first attempt I would say it's okay- (a couple of editing mistakes here and there but we can live with that!) and I am really looking forward to making more videos. Like my blog, I want to keep my YouTube channel anonymous by not showing my face, but I will be doing videos such as lookbooks and hauls, but just not in the 'normal' format. I'd like to bring something different to the world of YouTubing so I hope with my vintage inspired videos people will be able to share my passion with me. Now, I understand that I will not get thousands of views overnight, but like my blog, I just love to make videos and posts! I would appreciate it so much if my wonderful followers would subscribe to my new channel and watch the videos to come! Lots of love my lovelies and enjoy!
