Summer Daze...

May 31, 2013

On Bank Holiday Sunday the weather was lovely so I thought I would take advantage and take some photos for you all!

Recently I bought this amazing Khaki Jacket with beautiful back and shoulder detailing in Primark for only £10 in the sale! I absolutely love it as it is so easy to just fling on and look like you made an effort!

The detailing in the back is gorgeous and I think it adds a really interesting element to the piece.

I paired  this with a sheer and simple cream top, some plain leggings and my trusty converse. This is what I like to call 'Lazy Fashion'. You don't have to very try hard but you get good results!

Jacket- Primark, Top- Primark, Leggings- Primark, Shoes- Converse (office) ,Rings- Primark&Beach Shop, Necklace- Kukee.co.uk , Bag- Charity Shop (originally Primark) and Sunglasses- Urban Outfitters. (Nail Polish was Nails Inc. Motcombe Street!)

I also took some pictures of the day so thought I would leave them for you to enjoy!

Pattern People...

May 27, 2013

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I rarely pay full price for anything. So when I was having a little wonder around H&M the other day and came across these amazing patterned trousers at 50% off (which made them £5!) , I knew that they would soon be mine.

I never really thought I was a patterned trousers person. I tend to stick to black, grey, white etc (bet that doesn't surprise you!)- but I really liked these and to my surprise they aren't that hard to style either. They are a great alternative to jeans on a warmish day when you don't fancy getting your legs out!

I like to keep it quite simple on top when wearing pattern on the bottom. I'm wearing this simple cream sheer top from Primark.

I also love these amazing wedges from Primark that only cost £10! They just add a really elegant touch to the outfit.

Top- Primark ,Trousers H&M and Shoes- Primark.

You can get the Charity Wristband that I am wearing from Believe In Magic here!

Firmoo Sunglasses Review...

May 16, 2013

Recentley I was contacted by an Americain based company called Firmoo who kindly offered to send me some Glasses from a range of their eyewear. I decided to pick a pair of sunglasses as I don't actually wear prescription glasses and I thought they would be a bit more useful than just clear lensed fashion glasses. I was more than delighted when a pair of stunning tortoise shell square framed glasses got delivered to me.

On first impressions I was amazed at the quality of the glasses and the items you get with it. In the package was a glasses sleeve, a sturdy leather glasses case, the glasses themselves and some screws to adjust if needs be. Overall the packaging looks high quality and professional and also stops your glasses being crushed at the bottom of your bag!

The actual glasses are absolutely amazing. They have gradient lenses which make it a doddle to see in bright sunlight. Without sounding like a snob....I can now so see the difference between a good quality pair of glasses and Primark ones... I think with something like sunglasses, sometimes you just have to spend a little extra to get the best quality and I think for glasses it is worth it, you are protecting your eyes after all and they are with you for life!

The glasses are sturdy, good quality and fit my face well. Most glasses slip off me as I literally have a pea head, but these only slip the teeensiest bit down my nose- (but what do you expect with a pea head eh?!).
I love the design as I think it is really versatile and easy to wear and style with many different outfits. The good thing about these glasses is they can also be prescription so you don't have to worry about not be able to see clearly if you are a glasses wearer!

Firmoo kindly offer an amazing service of 'First Pair Free' for new customers, where you can get your first pair of glasses free!
I think this would be an amazing thing to do if you were considering a pair of glasses and wanted to see what they were like without having to splash too much cash.

Overall I love these glasses and I can tell I will keep them many years.

My glasses are the #OTO5374 model  from Firmoo* (link here) *$49 or £33.81.

Lipstick: The Summer Line-Up...

May 10, 2013

I am an avid lipstick wearer. I just love the stuff. The idea of being able to transform my face with many different colours just excites me! This brings me onto telling you about my favourite lipsticks for summer. I like to wear highly coloured lipsticks in the summer as I feel they just add some brightness to my day!

Mac 'Lady Danger' (matte)

I ADORE THIS LIPSTICK! It is a thing of beauty. It is SO pigmented, it lasts SO long and it is just SO pretty. I think it is a great alternative to the classic red as it is more of an orange-toned red. It is a matte shade so depending on the condition of your lips could be a little drying but none the less I love it!

Rimmel Kate Moss ''20'

This lipstick is amazing quality for the price. The pigmentation is that of a Mac lipstick and it feels lovely and creamy on the lips. It doesn't last as long as a higher-end lipstick but it is still amazing for £5.49!

Lancome l'absolute Rouge '06'

I love this lipstick as it is a great alternative to a nude. It is not in your face bright but then again it is not like you can't see it. It lasts a long time and smells AMAZING! (Just like those round sherbety-ish sweets that resemble tablets when you were a kid- I'm aware that sounds strange but if you know what I'm on about then it won't!) This is a sample size and I would love to pick up the full size I just have to get over the £22 price tag first!

Rimmel Kate Moss '101' (matte)

This is another great alternative to a nude as it is a lovely pinky colour that looks nice and subtle if you have quite heavy eye make-up. I think it makes you look really healthy and it is a bargain at only £5.49. What more do you want!

Let's Go Boho...

May 06, 2013

Seeing as the sun was out on this wonderful bank holiday, I got the urge to bare my legs and wear a 'boho' style dress. I feel so hippy and free in this dress and I love how it can be worn in summer with some simple sandles and jewellery, but it can also be worn in the depths of winter with tights and a leather jacket. I do fake-tan whilst wearing this in the summer though as it being white, could wash out us pale people. I love the amazing embroidery design that it has that is so simple yet so classy.

I hope you are all enjoying your bank holiday in this lovely weather! x

The Perfect Mini Pamper Evening...

April 27, 2013

Every so often I like to take the time to give myself a little pamper. It makes me feel calm and I find it is a great way of getting rid of the stress of the day. My pamper evenings basically just consist of the normal things such as a long deep bath etc. , but I like to take my time and feel relaxed.. During Mid-Week I am often very busy and don't have much time so this is a mini pamper for making the most of the time you have!

First I take off all my make-up using the Garnier Skin Naturals Cleansing Water as it freshens me up and means that the steam from the bath doesn't make my make-up settle into my pores. I then cleans using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I am trying out a cheaper alternative to this at the moment but to be honest this stuff is the bomb! Then I use Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in Mild. I stop there and then tone and moisturise once I'm out the bath.

I like to then light a candle just to create a calm atmosphere. Mine is the W1A Piccadilly Candle from TKmaxx.

I then run my bath and use Dirty Works Bath Soak to create some calming bubbles and soften the skin. When in the bath I like to read a magazine or go on my phone (no emails or texts as this is a pamper evening- also be careful not to drop it in the bath!!) and then use a couple of products. I like to use the Soap and Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel  followed by the Dirty Works Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub. I also like to use a face mask so I used the Ahava Mud Masque as it just helps to get rid of all the toxins in your pores.

I then jump out the bath and give my hair a wash using the Tresemme Luxurious Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

I then get into some cosy PJ's, dry my hair and put it in a bun and watch Eastenders with a cup of tea. Bliss.

I hope this has inspired you to have a little pamper evening!

Dirty Works Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub...

April 19, 2013

As I was doing the weekly shop in Sainsbury's the other day, I was drawn to the beauty isle (that's not that difficult for me to be honest) by some amazing packaging that looked just like Soap&Glory. I was intrigued to discover the brand 'Dirty Works'. They were doing a half price offer so I thought I would pick up a few bits. Now some people might think this is weird but I don't particularly like the scent of Soap&Glory products. I find them a bit too sickly sweet, so when I smelt these in the shop and they smelt fresh and floral I was happy to give them a go. One of the items I picked up was the 'Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub'. I love the scent of this scrub as it is lovely but doesn't linger too long. The scrub itself is also super moisturising with just the right amount of abrasiveness. I think I paid about £2.50 (on offer) for this so it was an absolute bargain. I love the packaging as it looks super cute on display in the bathroom. Unfortunately  I dropped in the first time I went to use it and it cracked so it doesn't look as good as it once did! Overall I would say this is a great alternative to Soap&Glory- especially if you're on a budget! I'm not too sure if it is still on offer though!

Have you tried any Dirty Works products?
